Shree Akshara Foundation is a voluntary, non-profit, rural development organization, committed for the empowerment and emancipation of women, children, aged and needy rural masses. It is a charity organization which supports country women to reach economic independence. Women get training in manufacturing paper toys and clay products. This happened in a large common space. The major twin objectives of the Society are to empower the rural women through skill training and education, and assist handicapped people to lead a sustainable life by giving them a skill to earn a decent income.

Shree Akshara Foundation concentrated in 25 rural villages Youth of Haveri District as well in urban . The major source of livelihood of the people in the District is Agriculture, Dairy and Allied activities. Haveri is also known for its backwardness in education and economy. Their economy is subsistence as the natural resources of the District are meagre to support its population. Among the population, women, children and handicapped people are the poorest of the poor. They are purely depending upon their family. Handicapped people lack support from their families as well as from the community. Government schemes reach them seldom. Recent Flood and torrential rain inundated and made a major portion of the land unfertile. This 2019 is really a hard period for these people as they look the government and non-governmental organizations for some kind of support to enable their lives. The total population of Karnataka as of 2011 stood at 61,095,297 as per the provisional results of the Census of India 2011. In terms of population it holds the 9th position among the States and Union territories in the country. As against all India decadal growth rate of population 1.3% during 2001-2011, in Karnataka this has further slipped to 15.06% from 17.51% during 2001-2011. The sex ratio (i.e., the number of females per thousand males) of population in the State has improved from 973 in the present census. The literacy rate in the State has shown remarkable improvement. This has increased to 75.36% when compared to 66.64% ten years back during 2001 Census.
These children face the following problems in an age that is not to suitable to find solutions to most of their problems: Lack of basic education makes them as illiterates, retarded growth in the socio-psycho development of their life, early marriage and frequent pregnancies results poor health for mothers, malnourished, under-weight babies, respiratory tract problems, learning undesirable bad habits like smoking, pan chewing, drinking and live in dire poverty entangled with despair.
The present day youth were the earlier day child labourers, lack basic education, skills and vision to lay down their future so far our knowledge .It is mandatory to make them skill oriented with the help of state govt schemes.
